The stories USTourGuide plays as travelers pass a landmark, a marker or a strange sighting come from public records, and public records have gaps. Stewardship gives local historical societies, county organizations and specialist groups editing responsibility for the records in their territory or their subject: correct a date, add a photo, retell a story the way it should be told, publish a place we missed. Every record you care for can carry a "Learn more" link to your own website, so the travelers you inform become the visitors and members you're looking for. Stewards work in the same portal our publishers use, with a map of every record in their care, and every change goes live right away. Stewardship is free, and steward organizations also receive at least fifteen custom tours of their own to design, publicize and list publicly at no charge.
